“Burning Man 2020” workshop, coordinated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Güzden Varinlioğlu, Hugh Clarke, Ayşe Bozkurt Karal, Filiz Keyder Özkan, Hüseyin Onur Dinmez, Çağlar Şendikici and Res. Asst. Ece Küreli, was held 3-13th March. The theme of the workshop this year was to design a biomimetic structural organism that would function as a habitat for the Burning Man organization planned to be located in the Sahara Desert.
In scope of the workshop students designed a biomimetic structural organism that will adapt to the world’s largest hot desert’s geographical and climatic conditions and function as a habitat for the participants. Each organism proposed was created by inspiring from and transforming existing biological organisms live in a desert climate. During the workshop, students developed innovative ideas on colonizing and space producing in the near future by using digital modeling tools.
